Week 15 recap

leave a comment »

Week 15 is over and two more teams have clinched a division title, the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos have clinched a division title so far for the AFC, and the Baltimore Ravens have gotten a playoff spot as well. In the NFC the Atlanta Falcons and the Green bay Packers have also been given a division title of their own, and the San Fransisco 49ers have gotten themselves a playoff spot as well.

The Indianapolis Colts played against the number one team in the AFC, the Houston Texans. Now this was a very difficult game and though Colts fans had hope that the Colts would win the game, alas it was not to be as the Texans won 29-17 despite the Colts efforts. The Minnesota Vikings played against the St. Louis Rams and with the help of Adrian Peterson they won 36-22.

Surprising wins:

  • Though the win was not very surprising the end score was, the Atlanta Falcons beat the New York Giants 34-0. I would have at least expected the Giants to put up some sort of fight, but then again they were without their best runner.
  • The New Orleans Saints beat the Tampa Bay Buccanears 41-0. This came as a surprise because the Saints were not doing very well and them they come out here and shut out the Bucs.
  • The San Fransisco 49ers beat the New England Patriots 41-34. The 49ers seemed to have controlled the game from the start, and even led the game 31-3 at one point.

So far 12 teams have been eliminated from the playoffs, but the three of the rookie QB s have a chance at going into the playoffs, Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins, and Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. These rookies have shown that they can not only throw, but run when needed. They have surprised and surpassed peoples expectations for them.

This year the fight to the Superbowl is going to be one of the hardest ones and anyone of these teams could win.

Week 14 recap

The end of the season is coming to a close with only three more games left in the regular season. And as such teams are faceing off in order to fight for the last spot in the playoff hunt, so far eight teams have been eliminated from the playoffs.

The week started off with the Denver Broncos against the Oakland Raiders, so far the Broncos have made it into the playoffs, the Raiders have been eliminated from the playoffs and the Broncos won 26-13. The Indianapolis Colts played against the Tennessee  Titans, the last time the Colts played against the Titans they (Colts) won in overtime, this time it seemed like it would end differently as the Titans were taking an early lead at the end of the half. But the Colts came back strong and won 27-23.

Surprising wins:

  • The Carolina Panthers beat the 11-1 Atlanta Falcons 30-20. The Falcons are the number one team for the NFC.
  • After the loss of a player and the prosicution of another, the Cowboys rallied together and beating the Cincinnati Bengals with a last second field goal 20-19.
  • The Minnesota Vikings beat the Chicago Bears 21-14 making the NFC North wide open to anyone.
  • Washington Redskins beat the Baltimore Ravens in OT 31-28, but not before RGIII got a mildly sprained knee.

The New England Patriots played against the Houstan Texans last night in a fight to see who was on top in the AFC. The Patriots proved that they are by far the best, as the Texans lost 42-14.  This week more teams have to opportunity go grab a place in the playoffs and these up coming games are going to the ones to watch as the last few games wind down to get ready for the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Recap of week 13

Recap of week 13.

This week the Indianapolis Colts played against the Detroit Lions, this was a good match up for both of the teams and challenged each of them in offense and with defense. The first play for the Colts didn’t go so well as Ndamukong Suh sacked Andrew Luck, but that didn’t stop the Colts from getting a TD a couple possessions later. With the score now 7-3 the Lions were determined to take the lead as they have just barely lost their past three games, one of them being last week against the Houston Texans. Both teams played really well, and this game was packed with amazing arm strength and unbelievable catches. The most exciting part came with only 1:34 in the game the Colts were down 33-28 and needed a TD to win, Luck moved the team down field with a swiftness and precision that you wouldn’t expect out of a rookie. When they got into range the first three throws were off and the clock was down to 4 seconds left, people on the edge of their seast awaiting the results of the game, Luck threw a pass to a wide open Donny Avery  for a TD. The Colts win the game 35-33.

Surprising wins:

  • The Seattle Seahawks took the Chicago Bears by surprise and beat them 23-17 in overtime.
  • For awhile it was unclear as to who would win in the New York Jets vs the Arizona Cardinals but the Jets managed to barely beat the Cardinals 7-6.
  • And after Peyton Manning told the crowd to quiet down the Broncos beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
