With one more week left in the regular season, there is still time for more teams to get eliminated from the wild-card or take the divisional place. Only two more spots are available in the playoffs, this final week will determine who will make it and who won’t.

For the Colts we just need to win this game on Sunday against Tennessee, and we will win the AFC south divisional and make it to the playoffs.

On Thursday the Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier, announced that Brett Favre has not passed his concussion test, so for now it is doubtful that he will play in Sunday’s game against Detroit. This will be Brett Favre’s last season in football, and had hoped that he would be able to play his last game, we all wish him luck and that he will recover soon.

Colts vs Raiders: The Results

leave a comment »

The Result Today the Colts played in Oakland, California. The results: the Colts win 31-26.

The game Today Joseph Addai was back in the game after being out since October. And in the First quarter ran for a TD but not before the Raiders run back the first punt of the game (also the first play of the game) for a 100 yard TD. The second quarter starts with the Colts getting a FG, putting them in the lead for the first time of the game. Then the raiders have a chance for a 59 yard FG, and they make it. Jacob Tamme got a TD today as well making the Colts 17-13 over the Raiders.

Halftime Colts are leading 17-13.

Third quarter, Colts get the ball but punt it away. But the next time they get the ball Manning throws an interception, but the Raiders get nothing out of it. Raiders then get a FG, afterward the Colts make up for it by throwing to Blaire White and getting a TD. The fourth quarter though the Colts lose the ball again, though again nothing was gained from it. On a third down Manning threw the ball to Pierre Garcon for a TD, score is now 31-19. Then the Raiders try for a fourth down and miss it, so the Colts get the ball at the Raiders 45 but can get nothing out of it. After that Raiders get a TD making the score 31-26. Now the Raiders will try for an onside kick, but Jacob Tamme retrieves the ball. All the Colts have to do is waste time. With less then a minuet to go Peyton Manning runs the ball 30 yards to within the 5 yard line and slides down. The Colts take a knee and win 31-19. Their record is 9-6.

Stats Today Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 59 yard field goal his second of his career, which is most in the NFL. Though his record high is 61 yards, as I have heard today its ‘scary accurate.’ This was Manning’s 207th starting game 2nd in the NFL with Brett Favre in the lead with 297 starting games.

The Playoff chances Since the Colts won this game they only have to win their next game against Tennessee. But it’s not as bad if they lose because Jacksonville lost today in OT against the Washington Redskins, making them two games behind the Colts. So now the Colts are in the lead for the AFC south division, and in a position for the playoffs.

The Colts did really well today at Oakland, and I and everyone in Indiana hope that we will see more of that in upcoming game and hopefully in the playoffs. And we hope that all the people who are injured will get better so that we might see them in the upcoming seasons.

Results of Colts vs Jaguars game

leave a comment »

The win The Colts won their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This puts the Colts in first place for the division. If they can win the next two games, we are the AFC south champions and make it to the playoffs.
The Game First quarter: Donald Brown makes a 49 yard run to the 10 yard line which leads to the first TD by Austin Collie. Colts sack David Garrard, but because of a false penalty from the referee the Jags got a second chance at a first down (3rd down) but missed it, then got it on a fourth down conversion. Colts manage to hold off the Jags and the Jags had to settle for a field goal. 7-3 at the end of the first quarter, Colts are winning.
Second quarter: Austin Collie got his second TD of the game. Mike Thomas (80) ran for a TD on a punt return for Jacksonville, ran 78 yards.

Halftime the Colts are in the lead 14-10.

Third quarter: the Jaguars try for a fourth down but miss it, Colts get the ball at the Jacksonville 43. Donald Brown runs for a 43 yard TD, score is 21-10. On the punt to the Jags, a Colts player gets pushed into the receiver (after a fair catch is called) knocking the receiver down and knocking the ball loose. The ball was touched making it a live ball and the Colts retrieved the ball but ended the drive with a field goal making the score 24-10. With the Colts getting another FG, the Jags got a TD making it a 7 point game 24-17. Colt got another FG changing it back to a 10 point game. Then Jacksonville gets one more TD and will try for an onside kick (score is 27-24). The Colts recover the onside kick and Tyjuan Hagler gets the ball and runs for the final Colts TD. Final score Colts win 34-24.

Stats Today the Colts had 155 yards in rushing, the average rushing yards for the Cols are 80 per game, making them the worst in the NFL. Brown’s running TD was most likely surprising to everyone, including Jacksonville, but especially to Donald Brown. Manning was 29 for 39 today in passing with no interceptions, the Jags had 2 turnovers. And Manning threw to 8 different players.

Colts injuries Today Austin Collie was hit and got another concussion while playing. Collie had just come back from missing 5 games due to the previous concussions. Collie had 82 yards and 2 TDs before he got the concussion. This will have been his 3rd concussion this season. I’m glad that he is not seriously injured and hopefully will be able to play soon, but not before he has recovered enough.

Since the Colts have one this game the Colts are now the division leaders of the AFC south. There are only two remaining games left and if we can win both we will be able to play in the playoffs and hopefully have a chance at Superbowl XLV.

Colts Important game coming up

with 2 comments

This week the Indianapolis Colts play at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts need to win this game in order to tie with the Jags in the AFC South division. In order for us to win the AFC south division, and make it to the playoffs, the Jags have to lose this game and one more game.

Stats If the Colts don’t make the playoffs this year, it would be their first time in 8 years. The longest streak in the NFL (San Diego has 4).

Previous matche This would be our second game this year playing against the Jags. The first time we played, the Jags won in overtime with the longest field goal in NFL history of 59 yards. Ending in a 31-28 lose for the Colts.

So it is important for the Colts to win this game, without it the Jags can guarantee a place in the playoffs. And the Colts have a small chance of making the playoffs.

Important Injuries This week quite a few quarterbacks will not be playing.
Aaron Rogers of the Green Bay Packers will not be playing this week on Sunday night game against the New England Patriots, due to a concussion last week against Detroit. This will be his first game missed since taking over for Brett Favre.

Brett Favre according to the NFL will not be playing in Monday nights game against the Chicago Bears and Joe Webb will be starting for the second time this year. Joe Webb is the third string QB for the Vikings, their second string Tavaris Jackson was injured in the third quarter of the Vikings-Giants game.

Kyle Orton is out this game when the Chiefs play against the Oakland Raiders. Tim Tebow will start for the Chiefs this week.

Results from Colts vs. Titans, Week 14

leave a comment »

The Win: This week the Colts played against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. And the Colts win! After three weeks of no winning games they finally win.

Highlights: In the first quarter Javarris James ran for a one yard TD.
Second quarter Manning throws to Reggie Wayne and gets 50 yards, that leads to another TD by Pierre Garcon. Another TD from Pierre Garcon after a Titans penalty makes the score 21-0 by halftime.

Third quarter Titans are starting their come back after two TDs. Colts take a field goal, making the score 28-14. Forth Quarter Colts take one more field goal after Reggie Wayne makes a 56 yard run. Now with less than a minute the Titans try for a TD, they get it, but they don’t have enough time to get the ball again to win the game. It ends with Colts taking the win 31-28.

Next Colts games:

  • Next week the Colts play at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  • For week 16 Colts play in Oakland against the Oakland Raiders.
  • Week 17 Colts play their final regular game against the Tennessee Titans.

Colts playoff chances: To be able to win the AFC South division and make it to the playoffs the Colts must win the next three games, especially the game against the Jags. And we have to hope that the Jags will lose the game against us and at least one other game.

Jags’ schedule: The Jags this week played against the Oakland Raiders, at home, and won.

  • Week 16 they play in Indy against the Colts.
  • For week 17 they play at home against the Washington Redskins.
  • And for their last game of the regular season they play against the Houston Texans in Houston.

The Colts will need to win the next three games, especially against the Jaguars, in order to win the division. At that point, we will be tied with the Jaguars, but actually ahead of them because of the week 16 win.

Update on Brett Favre before Minnesota Vikings – NY Giants Game

leave a comment »

According to, 41-year-old Brett Favre is officially inactive for tonight’s game against the New York Giants. This would have been Favre’s 298th straight consecutive game, most in the NFL.

The reason Favre could not play was because of last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills, when he took a hit to the shoulder, and was inactive for the rest of the game last week. Tarvaris Jackson will be starting for the Vikings tonight in Detroit.
